Logo
The Makrothymia logo is a visual representation of the mystery of the Gospel:
God above all things, the Word who descends voluntarily, divine patience that saves, and Christ's eternal victory over death.
1. The upper part of the circle — God above all
The upper arc represents the eternity, glory, and sovereignty of God. From above, the Creator rules over all things visible and invisible. He is the source of all light, the starting point of the redemptive movement.
“God is in heaven, and he works all things according to his will.” (Psalm 115:3)
2. The descending line — The Word made flesh
The line that descends from above symbolizes the Word made flesh. It is Christ coming down to the world, leaving his glory to dwell among men. His descent is not a fall, but an incarnation, eternal love taking human form.
“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” (John 1:14)
3. The “V” Shape — Voluntarily
The shape opens into a V, which expresses the heart of the Gospel:
Jesus descends voluntarily. No one forced him; it was his decision to give his life out of love, to reconcile humanity with God. That “V” also embodies Victory, the sign of divine triumph over sin and death.
“No one takes my life from me; I lay it down willingly.” (John 10:18)
4. The “M” — Makrothymia, the Patience of God
Within the same line appears the shape of an M, a symbol of Makrothymia, the divine patience that endures, waits, and saves. It is the love that does not impose itself, but perseveres until the fulfillment of the eternal purpose.
“The Lord is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish.” (2 Peter 3:9)
5. The Lower Circle — The World That Will Be Saved
The full circle represents the Earth, humanity. It is the destiny of Christ's descent: the fallen world will be redeemed by his grace. The closed circle reflects restoration, the fulfillment of the divine plan.
6. The V Again — Victory over Death
The same V that represents his voluntary descent becomes the sign of victory. Christ descends to conquer death and raise the world to eternal life.
The "M" closes the redeemed circle: God's patience becomes consummate victory.
"He was obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God highly exalted him." (Philippians 2:8–9)
